Turmeric Leave a.k.a "Daun Kunyit"

Do you know what is Turmeric Leave? Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae.[2] It is native to tropical South Asia and needs temperatures between 20°C and 30°C, and a considerable amount of annual rainfall to thrive (Materia Indica, 1826, Whitelaw Ainslie, M.D. M.R.A.S., via Google Books). Plants are gathered annually for their rhizomes, and re-seeded from some of those rhizomes in the following season (Wikipedia).
This plant commonly used in culinary. I have unique story with this Turmeric leave. On 24th this March, we are from PPI (Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia) in my campus join the expo in convocation. I and my friend BZ, wants to make "Sate Padang". Before the expo we made the tester -which was happen yesterday- of this "Sate Padang" and i'm very grateful people like it. But in fact, we didn't put the Turmeric Leave a.k.a "Daun Kunyit" because we couldn't find it in the market! FYI, this Turmeric Leave a.k.a "Daun Kunyit" is one of important ingredient to make "Sate Padang". As the result, both I and BZ walked from Changlun market and starting to looked peoples yard for searching this Turmeric Leave a.k.a "Daun Kunyit"!!! We walked very slowly and peoples watched us with full anxiousness -maybe they thank we want do something bad with their house, actually if we found that Turmeric Leave a.k.a "Daun Kunyit" we want to take it away.. hahaha-. As the result, we got nothing and very depress. How can we make "Sate Padang" if one of important ingredient is not here? That's all what we think about until we back to our campus and starting to cooked.

Finally, BZ called her mom and told what happen. Then her mom said the taste maybe a bit different if we not put that leave. Again, we were hit with the depression. Then i took inisiative to called my mother and she said the same thing with BZ's mom BUT, she added if we put more coriander and "daun salam". Maybe a little bit different, but should be no problem.

Then, with the independace bravery, we started to cook eventhough we still corious about Turmeric Leave a.k.a "Daun Kunyit" not exist in the market where I study now. --"

*This story is boring, isn't it? I can feel that. But anyway i just want to add and improve my writing skill. So,,, Happy reading...!!! :D
